Biography

Wyatt Stevens is a partner of Roberts & Stevens with more than 15 years of experience in complex personal injury litigation and commercial litigation. A native of Asheville, North Carolina, Wyatt has successfully represented individuals, businesses and organizations in state and federal courts throughout Western North Carolina, including dozens of complex jury trials, administrative hearings and appeals. His diverse clients include companies and individuals engaged in the recreational sports industry, manufacturing, insurance, telecommunications, trucking and tourism industries.

Wyatt is a member of the Association of Ski Defense Attorneys and regularly defends the state's ski resorts in personal injury cases. His expertise has earned him respect as a top litigator. In fact, Wyatt has been recognized in Business North Carolina magazine's Legal Elite, and his peers have also honored him as a North Carolina Super Lawyer. Wyatt is a member of the 28th Judicial District Bar, Defense Research Institute, and the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys.

Recent Accomplishments

Obtained and successfully defended summary judgment for the plaintiff in a real property easement case in Hensley vs. Samel, 163 N.C. App. 303 (2004).

Obtained a defense verdict in a multi-million dollar federal personal injury case against a Western North Carolina ski area which was upheld by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Strawbridge vs. Sugar Mountain, 2005 U.S. App. LEXIS 23459.

Obtained a defense verdict in a complex motorcycle personal injury case in Polk County, North Carolina in 2008.

Obtained a defense verdict in the Industrial Commission in a double fatality motor vehicle accident tort claim case against the North Carolina Highway Patrol, which was upheld by the North Carolina Court of Appeals in Holloway v. Dept. of Crime Control and Public Safety, 197 N.C. App. 165 (2008).

Obtained a plaintiff's verdict in favor of a major corporate client in Haywood County, North Carolina in 2010.

Obtained numerous summary judgments and dismissals for corporate and individual clients over the last five years, including recent summary judgments in a real estate malpractice case, a legal malpractice case and a ski accident case. 

Successfully defended a major corporate client in a patent infringement action in the Eastern District of Texas in 2010 involving an alleged internet-related patent.
