Attorney Tyler R. Gillis joins Roberts & Stevens law firm

Roberts & Stevens is pleased to announce that attorney Tyler R. Gillis has joined the firm as an associate attorney whose practice focuses on commercial transactions, business entity formation and management, human resource issues, regulatory and healthcare matters, and real estate.

After earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008, Gillis began studying law at Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where he graduated with a juris doctor in 2011. Gillis spent the first 10 years of his career advising large multi-national corporations as in-house counsel in Raleigh, North Carolina.

He has counseled multinational corporations regarding contractual disputes, human resource matters, software licensing agreements, commercial construction agreements, leases, master services agreements and statements of work. Gillis has experience providing in-house corporate counsel helping companies navigate challenges after an acquisition, and he has negotiated multimillion-dollar agreements with large and small academic institutions in connection with domestic and international clinical research trials.

Most recently, Gillis served as senior corporate counsel to a small biotech company in San Diego, California, before moving to Asheville in 2025.
