Attorney Caroline Poteat joins Roberts & Stevens law firm

Roberts & Stevens is pleased to announce that Caroline Poteat has joined the firm as an associate attorney whose practice focuses on a variety of civil litigation matters. She brings more than a decade of professional experience in nonprofit leadership, land conservation and community development in Western North Carolina to the firm.

Poteat graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she concentrated on environmental, land use, and municipal law. She also holds master’s degrees in geography and Appalachian studies from Appalachian State University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from American University. Prior to law school, she served as director of development for Blue Ridge Conservancy and as executive director of Valle Crucis Community Park.

A Western North Carolina native, Poteat is thrilled to call Asheville home. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors and taking in Asheville’s live music scene with her partner.

“My years working with nonprofits and community organizations have taught me to approach problems with both a practical and community-minded perspective,” Poteat said. “I’m excited to bring that experience to my work at Roberts & Stevens.”
