Attorney Kelly McLaughlin joins Roberts & Stevens law firm
Roberts & Stevens is pleased to announce that attorney Kelly McLaughlin has joined the firm as an associate attorney whose practice focuses on general litigation.
McLaughlin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in 2015, and she received a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2018. At Georgetown, she was a member of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law, interned at multiple public defender offices across the country, and represented indigent individuals through the Georgetown Law Criminal Justice Clinic.
After law school, McLaughlin joined the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she later became a managing attorney in the trial division. She has represented clients in all stages of criminal proceedings, including a direct appeal before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Prior to joining the firm, McLaughlin served as lead counsel on major felony jury trials and secured multiple full acquittals for her clients. In 2025, McLaughlin moved to Asheville to be closer to family and joined Roberts & Stevens law firm this spring. She is excited to bring her significant trial practice experience into the arena of civil litigation.
“I am so excited to join the exceptional team at Roberts & Stevens. I look forward to working with such dedicated, talented attorneys,” McLaughlin said.
When she is not busy helping clients through her work with the firm, McLaughlin enjoys exploring Asheville with her husband, daughter and two dogs.
McLaughlin joins a team of professionals with decades of experience across dozens of practice areas. No matter the complexity, Roberts & Stevens delivers outstanding service and conscientious legal work performed by experienced and well-prepared lawyers who put their clients’ interests first.
