Lach Zemp joins Warren Wilson College Board of Trustees
Lach Zemp, a partner with the Asheville law firm of Roberts & Stevens, has joined the Warren Wilson College Board of Trustees.
Zemp focuses on complex civil litigation in a variety of areas. He has extensive experience litigating cases in professional and medical malpractice cases, commercial and business litigation (contract and shareholder disputes), products liability cases, commercial trucking cases, and land development and conservation cases.
Zemp moved to Western North Carolina 12 years ago after working for 20+ years in Alaska in the commercial fishing industry and practicing law in Juneau. Since then he has been deeply involved in the WNC community, serving as a former trustee of the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy; former board chair of WCQS-FM; former vice chair of the board of Pisgah Legal Services; and current board member of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to serve Warren Wilson College,” Zemp said. “WWC’s appeal is its emphasis on teaching young people the art of thinking in a way that not only furthers their intellect, but also creates an essential link between higher education and the importance of responsibility to self and to our local and global communities. I look forward to doing what I can to ensure that the legacy of these values becomes stronger for current and future generations.”
Founded in 1894 as the Asheville Farm School, Warren Wilson College is the country’s only national liberal arts college with integrated work and service programs.
