Kelly E. McLaughlin

Associate

Kelly McLaughlin is an attorney at Roberts & Stevens whose practice focuses on a variety of civil litigation matters.

Kelly graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California and received a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. At Georgetown, she was a member of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law, interned at multiple public defender offices across the country, and represented indigent individuals through the Georgetown Law Criminal Justice Clinic.

After law school, Kelly joined the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she later became a managing attorney in the trial division. She has represented clients in all stages of criminal proceedings, including a direct appeal before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Prior to joining the firm, Kelly served as lead counsel on major felony jury trials and secured multiple full acquittals for her clients.

Kelly moved to Asheville in 2025 to be closer to family. She enjoys exploring Asheville with her daughter, husband, and two dogs.
