Roberts & Stevens Sponsor for Power of the Purse Luncheon

Roberts & Stevens is a proud sponsor of the 12th Annual Power of the Purse® Luncheon presented by The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. This year’s event features Dr. Mae Jemison who brings her message of education and empowerment to women and girls across our region. A scientist, a medical doctor, a space explorer, a professor and a dancer, Jamison is truly a role model of extraordinary achievement.

Power of the Purse® brings well-known female speakers and personalities to Western North Carolina to celebrate the power of women’s philanthropy. The afternoon includes the announcement of grants from the Women for Women giving circle. Past speakers have included Piper Kerman, Olympia Snowe, Dee Dee Myers, Anna Deavere Smith, Gloria Steinem, Jennifer Buffett, Cokie Roberts and Anna Quindlen.

Proceeds from the event benefit The Women’s Fund, a permanent endowment that supports the unmet needs of women and girls across the region. The event takes place on Tuesday, May 24, at the Expo Center at the Crowne Plaza in Asheville.  More information is available here.
