Real Estate, Development, Land Trusts & Conservation

The Roberts & Stevens’ Real Estate Law attorneys offer comprehensive services in the areas of commercial and residential real estate acquisition, leasing and selling; land use planning; financing; and real property development.

For commercial development, our attorneys provide advice and counsel on all types of projects and transactions, from acquisition and sale of existing properties to development, construction, operation, and management of complex multi-use projects. We assist clients with entity selection, formation and taxation. In addition, the Real Estate Law Team regularly draws on the experience and counsel of other attorneys in the firm who have experience in tax law, corporate finance, and environmental law, so that our clients’ real estate transactions are handled efficiently.

Our attorneys work with environmental organizations as counselors and serve on the boards of directors in leadership positions to assist in the daily operations of land protection and fundraising for these organizations. We handle title searches and closings for conservation easements and work with state and federal governments in connection with the funding and transfer of easements and conservation property in fee simple. Finally, in the event that the easement terms are violated, we represent clients in court to pursue and require the enforcement of conservation easements.

Our Real Estate attorneys also have broad experience litigating real estate disputes, including those involving title problems, real covenants and easements, commercial landlord-tenant relationships, development and construction contracts, foreclosures, receivership, condemnation and eminent domain, and bankruptcy. At Roberts & Stevens, our attorneys pride themselves on providing our clients with quality work and responsive personalized service that has allowed us to meet all of our clients’ needs.

Update Regarding COVID-19

To our clients, colleagues, and friends: The safety and well-being of our community is our highest priority. Like many of you, we are closely monitoring the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact it is having on everyone in our community and around the world. As the level of concern surrounding the virus heightens, we feel a strong responsibility to minimize any potential risk within the community. To that end, we are following guidelines recommended by the CDC – from implementing and maintaining diligent sanitation and custodial practices to minimizing person-to-person contact – while ensuring that all of your legal needs continue to be met with the same client service you are accustomed to receiving from Roberts & Stevens. At this time, our offices remain open, with many of us connected remotely. However, in support of social distancing, we are asking clients, if at all possible, to schedule phone conferences instead of coming to the office. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Let us know if you need us. We are here.
